The 5th Annual SPARK! Conference will provide a diverse offering of training focused on best practices for creative engagement through art, nature and culture. The conference will feature nationally recognized presenters, in-depth and hands-on sessions which will include brain health, art-making, grant writing, building community partnerships and many others.

If you are a museum or medical professional looking for fresh and engaging actives to enhance programs for people with memory loss, this conference is for you!

Thursday Keynote Speaker:

Gary Glazner is the founder and Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Poetry Project, (APP). The APP was the recipient of the 2013, Rosalinde Gilbert Innovations in Alzheimer’s Disease Caregiving Legacy Award and the 2012 MetLife Foundation Creativity and Aging in America Leadership Award in the category of Community Engagement. The National Endowment for the Arts listed the APP as a “best practice.” NBC’s “Today” show, and NPR’s “All Things Considered” have featured segments on Glazner’s work.

We are seeking dynamic, innovative session proposals, targeting institutions that provide creative experiences for people with memory loss and their care partners. Past conference sessions have focused on topics such as best practices for creative engagement, brain health, grant writing, building community partnerships, etc. – but the sky is the limit! Proposals are due by Friday, April 27.
